Posted on: March 27, 2009

We worked on a fun project this afternoon: sock puppets! Boy, did they turn out cute.

Also, the other day we had a lovely afternoon outside, and the kids wanted to make videos of their Wacky Zingoz (Zingozes?). I tried to post it but it didn’t work. I’ll try again tomorrow!

Awwwww! Those are so neat! We’ve never made sock puppets before. That sounds like a project for today…it’s going to rain all day.

How fun!! Thanks for sharing; now I am inspired to do this with Caroline sometime soon! Did you make them up all on your own or did you get inspiration somewhere? I love the braided hair on Carrie’s puppet!

We just sort of made them up as we went along. We took a trip to Michael’s beforehand and picked out things like felt for the mouths, googly eyes, pom pom thingies for the noses, yarn colors they liked, etc. One idea I did get beforehand from a website was to cut an oval from boxboard, fold it in half, and use it to make the mouth more stable. That definitely helped a lot!
