Light of my Life

My perceptive and thoughtful boy

Posted on: November 13, 2008

A couple of days ago, I was sitting on the couch with a sleeping babe in my arms. The older kids were playing happily in the playroom. I heard Logan exclaim to Carrie, “Hey, I found your pink guitar! Let’s ask mom to get it down!” And then he called to me, “Mom, I found Carrie’s guitar! Can you get it down for us? … Mom?”

Silence. I couldn’t answer because of the baby.

A moment later, “MOM! Can you PLEASE get the guitar down?!”

More silence.

And then a little more quietly, “Or not! Because I think you’re holding the baby!”

How cute and sweet and smart was that? He figured out exactly why I wasn’t answering him, and he quieted down so he wouldn’t wake the baby either.

My wonderfully perceptive and thoughtful little sweetheart of a boy.

Wow! What an amazing little boy– incredible that he could make that conclusion at his tender age. What a sweetheart! May God bless him.

Oh wow – I wish MY kids could figure that out! Way to go!!!
